Our philanthropic efforts encompass a host of activities
Prolifics, a SemanticSpace company, chose LIVESTRONG as its community project in 2009-2010. LIVESTRONG, http://www.livestrong.org/, is a global organization that unites, inspires and empowers people affected by cancer, as well as provides funds for research. For the holiday season Prolifics donated in the name of our key customers. This served as a fitting way to thank and honor clients during a tough economic climate. At the IBM Lotusphere 2010 Conference, Prolifics continued its support by challenging attendees to “Take the Prolifics Dare.” Prolifics donated one dollar for everyone that followed @prolifics on Twitter and tweeted a photo of themselves at the event. In the spirit of collaboration with our community, Prolifics then matched the $1,000 pledged with the challenge for a total contribution of $2,000. Charitable Contributions - New Orleans and Pajama ProgramProlifics, a SemanticSpace company, proudly selected New Orleans as the venue for its Consulting Conference, Prolifics Exchange 2007, in an effort to boost a city that continues to recover from Hurricane Katrina. During the conference we replaced our traditional team-building activity with a charitable teaming event – to help rebuild the community with the hope to leave New Orleans a little better and a little brighter. Prolifics partnered with the Pajama Program to “Adopt a School” in New Orleans – the Lafayette Academy serving 770 underprivileged children, most of whom suffered personally from Hurricane Katrina. A team of 175 Prolifics and IBM personnel rolled up their sleeves, stood side by side with the kids and community of New Orleans, and helped to rebuild the school, presenting a personal and permanent gift to the children. The goal was to provide the kids with an inviting and habitable environment, supply them with a pair of pajamas and a book for school – a book they need, but cannot afford – and build them a much needed library. Overall the company made a donation totaling over $35K. Prolifics’ itself donated $10K which was matched by its business partner, IBM. Additionally, Prolifics organized a fundraiser which raised over $10K for “Books on the Bayou” from its employees. In addition to library funding and volunteer efforts by Prolifics, all students at Lafayette Academy received a new pair of pajamas (and books for the library) courtesy of the Pajama Program, whose mission is to provide new, warm pajamas and books to needy children nationwide. Prolifics also donated laptops to the school to be used by the students in the classroom. "The children that were there had a fabulous day, much better than had they stayed at home in whatever their living situation was. And, those that arrived today to see all the beautiful murals will find a magical space that will make coming to school even better every day. I cannot thank you enough for all that you did to provide this wonderful experience and gifts galore for these kids. You are such special people!" We are committed to built and support a healthy natural environment. By taking decisive actions to reduce the organization's contribution to climate change, we want to make a difference in the well-being of our people, our organization, the world’s economy, and the communities in which we operate. At SemanticSpace, we encourage our employees to car pool and reduce usage of paper. We aim to be the standard of excellence in eco-friendly, technology solutions and invest in environmentally friendly computing. For example we have introduced multifunction printer (MFP)—those that print, scan, fax, and copy and encourage 'duplex' (two-sided) printing reduces paper consumption by 50%
